The biggest surprise was how consistently warm the house feels

We use far more of the energy we generate ourselves now
We originally added the battery a couple of years after having the solar panels fitted. Before that, quite a lot of the electricity we generated during the day was being sent back to the grid. Now we store much more of it and use it later in the evening, which has made the whole system feel much more worthwhile.
